Give your home a little bit of love
This Valentine’s day, with many people sending their sweethearts a card or a token of their love, why not show a little bit of love to the home that you wouldn’t be without?
Have a clear out
With spring just around the corner, now is a great time to sort through those wardrobes and cupboards. Things we no longer need or have a place for have a habit of building up quickly and when we are in a rush sometimes it is just easier to hide it away rather than sort through it properly. Now’s the time to tackle it, bag it up and take it to the charity shop.
Do a thorough spring clean
Obviously, this is one of the best ways to give your house that care and attention it needs, but it does require a bit more elbow grease. Make sure to pay attention to those neglected areas that may not have even seen a duster or a chemical since last year! It will make you feel better too; a sparkling oven, a dust-free blind and freshly washed pillow covers with no stains are sure to give you that satisfied feeling.
Give it a lick of paint
Remember those stains on your white wall that have never quite come out and annoy you every time you see them? Why not do something about it now? If you didn’t use a washable, durable paint, try it out this time and give it a fresh coat. Yes, it means moving the furniture, but your future self will thank you for it when you don’t see that daily irritation anymore.
Inject a bit of style
If you’re bored of the way a room looks, often spaces can be livened up with just a new throw or some new cushions, maybe even a plant here or there and some new canvas art. It doesn’t have to cost the earth and you can usually find unique and interesting items at markets and on second hand selling sites. If you need inspiration, Pinterest is a great place to start your mood board.
